Norfolk County Honors NFL Hall of Famer Andre Tippett

 

Dedham, MA – The Norfolk County Commissioners recently voted to declare April 26, 2009 as Andre Tippett Day in Norfolk County upon his induction into the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in Commack, New York.

 

County Commission Chairman Francis W. O’Brien acknowledged Andre Tippett’s career. “He was one of the best at his linebacker position, and he could really take over a game. He’s well deserving of this recognition,” he said.

 

Tippett played his entire career for the New England Patriots and is a member of the National Football League Hall of Fame, inducted in the Class of 2008. He holds Patriots team records for career and single season sacks and was selected to five consecutive Pro Bowls from 1985 to 1989. He is also a member of the NFL’s All-Decade team of the 1980s.

 

A resident of Sharon, MA, Tippet currently serves as Executive Director of Community Affairs for the New England Patriots.
