* What is RSVP ?

RSVP is an abbreviation for Retired Senior Volunteer Program. One of the nation’s largest volunteer agencies, RSVP is nationally sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and the local sponsor is the Norfolk County Commissioners Office.

*Who can be an RSVP volunteer?
People 55 years of age or older, who want to make a difference in their communities can be a volunteer. Volunteers serve in schools tutoring children, at nutrition lunch sites for seniors, in hospitals with families of patients, in the jail mentoring inmates and in a variety of assignments at the 51 available sites throughout Norfolk County.

 

*What are the benefits for RSVP volunteers?
All RSVP volunteers receive free supplemental accident insurance, mileage reimbursements to and from the volunteer site, and a complimentary invitation to the Annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon.
