Dedham, MA - The Norfolk County Commissioners recently presented a check for $3,000 to the National Military Family Association (NMFA). Commissioner Francis O’Brien commended the work of NMFA in supporting our military families while their loved ones are deployed. He also thanked all current and former military members for their service to our nation. Receiving the donation for NMFA was Major Michael Barrett, USAR.
Founded in 1969, the National Military Family Association is the leading non-profit organization focusing on issues important to military families. NMFA believes that all military families deserve comprehensive child care, accessible health care, spouse employment options, great schools, caring communities, a secure retirement, and support for widows and widowers.
The donation to NMFA came from a gift from Warner Brothers Studios in payment for use of benches from the Dedham Superior Court House in a movie which was filmed in Dedham and other surrounding communities last year.
