ASSIST ADULT ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS THROUGH ONE-ON-ONE AND SMALL GROUP TUTORING IN/NEAR STOUGHTON OR QUINCY

Work with immigrants and other adults seeking to improve their English-speaking skills.  2-hour shifts once per week conducted in person or remotely.  Some training is required.

ASSIST IN PROVIDING GENTLY USED FURNITURE FOR PEOPLE TRANSITIONING OUT OF HOMELESSNESS THROUGH NEW LIFE FURNITURE BANK OF WALPOLE
Help with painting and light repairs, processing new furniture donations and moving furniture into their showroom.  Also seeking volunteer administrative  assistants.  Flexible hours.

ASSIST WITH MONEY MANAGEMENT

 Assist Elders with bill paying and basic budgeting tasks during monthly home visits. 2-3 hours per month.

BECOME A LONG-TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN
Visit with nursing home residents to educate them about their rights and to advocate for their needs. Requires 3-day training.  Volunteers visit nursing facility once per week for 1-2 hours.

ASSIST THE AMERICAN RED CROSS IN ITS BLOOD DRIVES AND DISASTER ACTION RESPONSE TEAMS

Welcome blood donors and assist with sign-in, intake and questions. Must be customer service-oriented. Volunteer Drivers Needed to transport blood collections to other site locations.      

Become a Disaster Action Team volunteer.  Provide 24-hour emergency response to home fires and other local disasters, ensuring that those affected have access to resources for necessities such as food, shelter and clothing. Team members must be available to sign-up for on-call shifts and respond to an emergency within 2 hours. This is an impactful position that provides a unique opportunity to work on the front lines during a crisis.
